hey jason, i know u dont fancy starting up on your own,but why dont you think about taking the leap into managment, with your experiance and passion you maybe in a better position to get your views aired you never know the impact after the intial shockwaves may have a positve effect on the industry, only way to change it is from the top down, :))
 
fuucck me is this geezer jason related to essex cos they both from anover planet,moaning whineing fuuuckpigs,talk the talk but i bet if they had no job and no work about they would take wotever offers on the table to keep a roof over there heads, easy to tell people wot the should work for, when theyre not the ones in need, you really aint been in this game long enough to realise how tight reccesions are and this ones gonna get much worse, well be lucky to be on minimum wage by the time its over
forget poofters advise as no firm in there right mind would employ such a leftie as you, cos you would put em down the pan within a month
 
hotspanner i think that the lads are related connot confirm.
they may be in london and surrounding arear but the rates that are being payed down there in relation to elsewhere in the country on the face may look b the price of a pint and a peice/sarny does make the difference.
i would also like to add that there has been a MASS IN FLUX OF EASTERN EUROPEAN CHEAPLABOUR IN TO THE MARKETWHICH THE LADS IN LONDON HAVE HAD TO ENDURE MORE THAN THE REST OF US IN RELATRION TO RATES ETC.
I WOULD ALSO ADVISE THAT THE LEFTIE SLANDER WOULD NOT SIUTE THESE 2 GUYS .MORE LIKE FORWARD THINKING BRITISH NATIONALIST PATRIOTS,WHO WILL NOT ACCEPT SECOND BEST WHICH YOU SEEM TO HAVE WHOLE HEARTEDLY

The rates some of you guys mention are a lot better than what I'm used to. My basic on the track is 8.98 for 8 hours, time n half after that. Time n half sat till 12 noon then double after that plus on a Sunday. We also get travel money aswell
 
wass do ypou complain if not them best fo british to you.you state you get time and a half,and also travel so when you cook the books its a no bad deal as we say in GLESGA.half thes erates at 13/14/15 are all in :blink:
 
Tbh thats is **** money, its ok for up north but being a london lad that be no good to me. Iv done work for agency and was getting £16per hour. Try octain agency.
 
if some of you guys had to work in scotland you'd be hangin up your belts

im startin to think the days of gettin 60-70 hours a week are gone also , i look at jobs in london and its all 40hrs a week , no good to no ****
 
jason are you for real,you gotta be related to essex cos both of you are not on this planet, i have never come across such a pair of wineing,overstated prickks in my life ,you talk the talk ok, but i bet u aint got a decent days graft in you gezzer, scaffs up and down the contry must be laughing at your rants, u fink u some type of scaffolding god looking down at the mere mortals, ,deal wiv it , u aint a reconised tradesmen, we're all just do nuts and bolts up for a living mate, dont matter how u wanna put it, cos it aint rocket science, if u was anygood you would av stuck with engineering. most of us do the job for the money and cos were to dumb to do anything else, as as for southernpoofter saying go into managment- dont bovver as youd only last a day before you threw your dolly outta the pram, and being such a leftie would make sure you proberbly put the firm down the pan within a month, most guys would like more pay, are we gonna get it , no not until the climate improves ,we are in a reccestion and should be happy to av a job,

Yeah thats out of order, hotspanner is entitled to voice his opinion surely. Or is it an exclusive club thats allowed to rant.
 
Hello mate interesting post, I agree scaffolding aint rocket science but dumbing it down to your extent is a bit extreme. There are simple jobs and there are very complex jobs, and dumb scaffolders cannot do complex jobs.

I also don't think most of us are scaffolders because we are too dumb to do anything else, I'm sure there's been threads asking why we all became scaffs but I believe the majority is through family and friends or somehow fell into it, not "f*ck it I'm too thick to do anything other than push trolleys or scaffold".

I will end though with agreeing with your last bit, we are in the sh!t and boys are out of work, be grateful of your job.
 
fiar comment flinty i wasnt trying to dumb us down gezzer i agree wiv 100% of what u say, i was trying to put a point accross at the opposite end of the spectrum to this stupid rant about what some heel finks we should be earning
very easy to to look down on people and say how much we should be paid based on his own experiance,and have a pop at bosses for not passin on cash, but has never even been on the otherside of the fence,i tried it once and got the shock of my life,it aint all rosses gez, nearly lost my flat and everyfing, back on the spanners for someone else -no greaf just go to work to my day and pic up my money, not eveyone works on the inderground or industrial sites or has the chance to. not everyone wants to work nites, even with all my qualifications i'm happy to have £120 per day with a van and fuel, full pay to 1pm on saturday,i'm not a greedy man and have always thought i lived within my means ,dnt do drugs and only drink socialbly,proberbly like most guys on here, but according to jason and essex anyone under a zillion quid a day is a is a Knoob, all their 1large a week is earnt on overtime and nite rates and dangeous areas, if they worked on a small company to normal hours then thats wot thay would get as well, both are just angry wannabes without the nerve to try it thereselves and love to moan about everything

Thanks for your post mate, I'm glad you explained your history a bit so I know where you're coming from now :)

I am going to stick up for Jason a bit though, I do respect the guy because it's not entirely selfish what he's posted up, just maybe unrealistic. He wants good wages for all of us, not demanding more money for himself. He's slogged it out and paid for all his tickets himself, chased the better paying work and quite rightly earned a good wage from it. Otherwise a lot of wasted money!

But yes, I do think it's unrealistic for us all to be on mega bucks. Competition will always keep things down and a recession doesn't help. If you want mega bucks then you've got to be prepared to work for it, get the tickets and in many cases work far from home. Not everyone's going to want to do this and not everyone will do it forever, maybe just to boost their income for a while.

I do think there is a minimum however, we do put up with a lot of sh!t and most pay out of their own pocket for tools etc to be able to work. How many office workers take a job with the condition "bring your own computer, desk and phone"... not many if any! Adverts for part2 scaffolders for the minimum wage certainly do NOT help!!!

I have a diploma and 9 gcse's above C level, only got into this game through family when my time at college came to fu.ck all as it was not what you know but who you know at the time. I did feel that his previous post was very pretentious though.
