offshore work??

There's no need to lie to get offshore. People will be able to spot first timers straight away on a rig, it's not worth it. If you get caught lying, it will be hard to get a start in the future. Just plenty of phone calls to the big players and keep sending your CV in and if it's your first time offshore, the regular guys will keep you right. Good luck!

No1 said anything about lying to the guys in the rig, infact I strongly recommend if you're unsure, take someone aside and tell them. The majority offshore will help you out.

There is a difference in lying to the guys on the rig and padding your cv to get your foot in the door. Some some reason it's extremely hard to get offshore these days so saying you did a few trips on a rig in Africa or somewhere different cannot hurt!!!!!

the best thing to do lads is phone 3 times a day everyday thats what i did they soon get sick and give you a start the more you ring them the more your name sticks in your head hope you get a star soon

Peachy Why do you need to have your ropes ticket to erect or dismantle a scaffold? For insurance reasons when you go on an oil rig you're there to preform the job advertised for, in this case, scaffolding. So why can't you just take on a scaff with their CISRS card, offshore survival, medical and mist?

hi jmo1873, i am only adhering to the clients requirement if i could place normal scaffolders with the tickets you expressed i would

Thanks for replying peachy. I suggest you make it clear to clients that you don't need rope access tickets to erect or dismantle scaffolds. Boys spend alot if money getting their offshore tickets and then the jobs get taken away by silly requests for unneeded tickets!

now then lads. email going around the ecc 225 choppers will be out of service for a year. getting to work is going to be hard. so the boom mite not happen this year.

North Sea scaff, why even put a post like that on without proof? You heard a rumour that an email was going about?? **** sake mate get a grip!!

well we all know how greedy these oil compamys all the money they make and carnt get new choppers a absolute joke they will be moaning when they carnt get the men back they have paid off in the last 6 months

I wish all the lads would get together and tell these ******** to go fuk themselves when the time comes. Treating boys like absolute ***** just now but that will all change come march/April. I bet Stork/Salamis/Cape are all getting compensation from the eurocopter for the disruption and in the mean time it's the lads that suffer. Sickening

Heard from a big heed yin that it will be a good while before the 225s are back in service so the oil companies are looking at barge mobilizing . I can`t see the hse turning a blind eye just because they have some logistical problems .
