Reference to a withdrawn or obsolete or indeed rewritten code may not invalidate the content of the document you have been using for 20 years.
TG17:10 also makes reference to BS1139 when talking about the longevity of couplers.
The earlier reference to TG14:03 related the use of Supplementary couplers. TG17:10 is the “Guidance” of fitting recognition and gives no such guidance as to fitting use.
If there is a later revision or issue of TG14 I would appreciate a copy.
Whilst the content of the tower would appear on the surface to be excessive I would prefer to see either the design brief or design drawing / calcs before commenting on its suitability. As demonstrated in an earlier post it is possible from the information provided on the load to be supported to attain the results obtained.
