death of the step

It's all fear Jason, common sense can get you to trouble sometimes. The bigger the sites the more men the more scope you have of someone taking advantage. Smaller sites, easier to control and see exactly what's going on although that been said it's still no guarantee. I would love to be honest about this but don't want to air our own dirty washing in public.:worried:

Just as well we have WAHR 2005 and SG4:10 and the CISRS/NASC as there would be no Scaffolders left on this Planet, we would all have plummetted to our deaths by throwing ourselves off scaffolds that were not designed according to TG:20.08. Cents:amazed:

Yes, i agree!

If not for the 'rules', id have surely have died by now...
Thank you very much, TG:20... you saved my life. (but killed my job, lol)

it doesnt look half as good as scaff step to me... you'd have to buy a hell of alot of them if you were a firm. and every lift would have to remain boarded to take them off again as you go up lift by lift. unless of course the plan is to leave them on. but that would just look really messy...

i think it would be easier to explain with a video, but i'll give it a go as no video evidence available at present. once you have pushed your handrail up, you simply undo the back of the double a little bit [ all doubles have a point where they are loose enough 4 a tube to slide, but with the tube still engaged, the nut/bolt dont come undone], build your lift, and once your up there the "upfront" slides free. there is no need to have all boarded lifts or leave them in place. you do need more "upfronts" than "steps" but you have to take into account the saving on a scaffolders time, which would help pay for itself very quickly. on a house of 40ft x 40ft you need 8 to get round the corners. on a 160ft run you would need 9. thanks for your observations.

Always interested in New Products---keep us all posted on your progress...

ive wondered that for a while , is it maybe just a matter of time

What will it take for common sense to come back, and for us to be treated as specialists who work at height and not bogged down with rules that were probably not wrote out with scaffolders in mind...

Anyway good luck with your project anything is better than that bloody step.

I was thinking about this method today, we were dismantling a 13 foot tower and I think maybe this would have been a better alternative to what we are doing at the moment. Maybe not the gadget I first thought.
