Opportunities in Canada

Alright all, are there still vacancies going out there as I'm interested but just never get any replies so if you could give me some more info that would be great. Cheers

Lots of jobs in Alberta, western Canada mate, but not sure how the visa situation would work. Check into that. Lots of scaffolders in Canada as well, like everywhere but sifting through them to find the good ones is also the same as everywhere else. Look into getting work visa first. Seen post on here earlier froma guy lookin fer scaffs, sayin could get sponsors for you an everything. Have ya seen that post?

Big money out in Alberta mate... Can take home up to 3 gran a week or more just on the tools if ya hook the right jobs...

lads , get on linkedin ,,, there is a hell of alot of companies looking for us scaffs ;]

Really? Companies where, mostly? or all over or what?

Hi, is there an age limit to the people youre looking for?
I'm 52, Advanced scaffolder,Advanced scaffold inspection cert' Nebosh Health and Safety cert, and have been looking to relocate. Is this too old?

Its not too old mate ( 55 is the max ) but I've said this a few times, getting a visa as a scaff is impossible, its not a trade out here, its done by joiners mostly, things are changing but it will take time, there are other options to getting to canada, but you need proffesional advice, anyone trying to get thru canadian customs for a work permit will be disapointed. They use layher and tube and wedge clamp ( out west mainly tube and wedge )

I moved to Canada 2 month ago and the money is unreal and in Saskatchewan there's a life time of work but it's hard to get in it took me 18 month and my girlfriend and kids have Canadian citizenship

I just emailed a couple of companies and I was offered about 7 jobs the first week I arrived in Canada, there is a life time of work just in this province and it's not even the tip of the ice berg and Alberta is the same

What companies did you come email ksummers? And where ya workin at the moment? union or non?

I spoke to nearly every company hahaa to see what the crack was then breck offered me a job up at rabbit lake uranium mine and they pay for the flights from where I live in PA and the paid for my course such as whmis, fall protection and confined space so it was a good deal but I was offered work in the oil sands with a few companies and a couple of offers in Saskatchewan

Cool! Where is rabbit lake then? And what companies in the oil sands offered ya jobs? i am Canadian but been livin overseas fer while and am thinkin bout goin back. Sorry for so many q's but ya know, thats what this forum is for and that how lots of scaffs get jobs. And in sask, in Saskatoon or Regina? Oh, and...... what do ya take home a week (rotation) from Rabbit then pay wise?

Rabbit lake is northern Saskatchewan , pipes and panels are looking for men for. 2 and 2 5 yr maintenance contract, flint, PACL , cornerstone, Clearwater and a few others I can't remember , breck are out of Saskatoon, and I took 7500 for 2 week rotation that's with over time

thanks mate!!! and ***** this IS a nice take! 2 weeks on/off? and they fly you.... wonder would they fly me overseas to Sweden, lol? ;) And is there any chance you could work any of yer off weeks, like do a 3 and 1 for example? I like shutdown, type work... large sum of cash, for 10-12 weeks etc, take my time off afterwards. So you just emailed them askin if they hiring?
