Anybody want a job in Dubai contact me...........

Scaffolding is 2 things nowadays.

  1. What tickets you have - more the better in the eyes of the employer.
  2. How good you are at sucking up to the boss.

Being a decent Scaffolder dont seem to matter in this climate... The amount of Scaffs i work with who say: "No ones gonna take a picture of it." - WRONG!!! Do the job properly or dont do it, imo.

Firms seem to rather have some numpty who can just about put up a 21ft A-Frame Handrail working for them who tells the boss all the right things and sucks his arse, then have a good Scaffolder whos confident enough in his abilities and able to tell the boss the truth - which most of the time they dont wanna hear.

The chances of this thread thats about a year old still having this job available is next to 0. Pissing in the wind with this one, lol.
 
me to harvey looking to go abroad working again and i"m thinking of doing my NEBSH aswell,but i"m 48 now harvey still gym 4or5 time wks still so keeping fit.where was you offshore and who with mate

worked with them all over the years and been on over 20 rigs / semi,s / jack-ups, but that phase is over I think, to many c--k suckers and useless bams and anyone on here will maybe know me but I never hide the way I think.

Its either abroad or down London this year although Im still doing the odd trip offshore till something better comes up
 
i agree with you on that harvey to many arse lickers creaps useless fcukers,i was on for salamis mate ad hock 17yrs between aberdeen and yarmouth it was ASL till salamis toke over,ASL was in lowestoft,so who you was you offshore for then,you may know my mate from glasgow jackie dixson and guy called chick,they worked for salamis

I'm confused.

There never was any job. It was just Vancouver mentioning how bitterly disappointed he was with Dubai when he went out there for a holiday.

Either way, this thread is keeping me quietly amused...

He isnt... thats the whole point of the 'joke'.
He did, about a year ago and he didnt like it, so he jacked in and come back to England.

Seems certain people cant seem to see that, and keep asking him the same thing over and over again, lol.

Loads of scaffolding work out there mate. Vancouver's got bundles of numbers for firms looking for British scaffolders in Dubai - He's the man to ask.

I think average pay is £1500/week tax free.

It seems that you're still struggling with this one too, Gibbsy.

He never said he had a job out there - he went for a holiday and was just telling everyone what he thought of the place!!!
