I agree with most of what you say but your missing the point Im trying to make.
I dont hate a money making scheme if it delivers better scaffs but it so doesnt. It gives people a card that says they are qualified , read that "QUALIFIED".
The CITB (fraudulently in my opinion) gives a card and lets people go out into the working enviroment doing probably the most dangerous job in the construction game saying they are "QUALIFIED"
I have been scaffolding for 25 years,done my c/hand, foreman , supervisor , manager and co-ordinator and I got those positions because I always want to learn, I sometimes end up back on the spanners which doesnt really bother me as long as Im working but these people that CITB are sending out are not qualified to be given a card , end of.
They (CITB) are a disgrace to the scaffold game and they WILL be found out, I know of at least 6 complaints that companies have put to HSE regarding the standard of there pass rate. Every scaff I know has seen the extent of these shams when they have been on there own courses over the last 20 years.
