Each to their own Old Scaff but I have never been on a dropper without a check. I'm not that fat but did like the extra security. As a Glasgow man you will remember the man who would put 5 foots in for butts.
Have seen 5 foots on bottom of droppers before with boards doubled up slung across the tubes.

WASTE OF A FITTING
went on the HEATHER PLATFORM 7 years ago when CAPE took it over from DEBORAHS.THE WHOLE UNDERDECK WAS SCAFFOLDED AND NOT AN ABERDEEN OR A CHECK ON THE T PEICE IN SITE.
THERE WASNT AN INCIDENT WITH SCAFFOLDING IN 17 YEARS.
DO YOU CHECK YOUR DOUBLES ON AN INDEPENDANTS NO BECAUSE ITS GOING NOWHERE SO WHY CHECK A T PEICE YOU MADE YOURSELF
Its Capes policy now isnt it Happy? Not every dropper is made up by the scaffolder whos going down. On big underdeck jobs we would have the droppers made up usually by the guy who went white at the mention of a hanger.
Even if you undo the backs of all the doubles a fully boarded platform wont drop completely but will get stuck. Anyone who remembers dropping lifts by putting doubles on at a measured distance then undoing the backs of the doubles will vouch that you normally had to jump on the fecker from above. One butt on a dropper will go if its not done up properly.
