Anaylise the fall from heights from relatively low scaffolds and Im sure it will show very few if any scaffolders are injured and SG4 is an over the top method which may well lead to more accidents in providing a enviroment so safe the scaffolder drops his guard

5. What Would You Change In Regards To CISRS? they should be linked to the cscs and all qualifications should be on both cards not loads of different cards just cost me £120 to replace all 4

If You Were Able To Suggest Any Improvements In Your Working Day To The HSE What Would You Say? you should be able to have a national induction for site works have it stamped on 1 cisrs card ,some weeks our lads have 5 inductions onto 5 different sites ,they are scaffolders not students they are some of the most well trained opperatives on site, i do see the need for specific inductions on specific sites but run of the mill sites should be covered with a single country wide induction.

I would add if you want to wear shorts and a t-shirt in the summer that should be your call, there are enough rules and regs, the good things about scaffolding are being slowly eroded, soon it won't be worth doing .I agree with 100% harness wearing and hard hats and boots but no short in the summer and long sleeved shirts ! come on we are adults not school kids.

If you were able to suggest any improvements in your working day to the HSE what would you say?

I would like to see a ban on certain work practises by scaffold owners /bosses for example, the work in the rain or you’re down the road Bully boy tactics after all no job is to important that it can’t wait. The HSE should address this issue and make a legal statement clarifying the employees legal rights regarding working in wet weather and or produce a codes of practice regarding such issues.
