Every stack is different sometimes you can get away with needles onto the ridge but you have also got to no how to saddle properly ,like double hip roofs where you cnt send a tube up the roof.

Hi Mr B! I usually run the tubes up the roof from the anchored access tower, put the transoms on that side with one at the ridge, put the drops down the other side and do same.. then pop in the uprights and hey presto! I'm very interested in that trick with the toe board if it's not too dodgy!

used to to them on tenements 60 feet up by going out through the skylite and just building the saddle.we would pull the gear up by footing on the gutter and using a handline very precarious,made a boy into a man.
cost me a few quid in new boxers though
