safety harness ??

Have you gone thru yellow pages yet? As recommended what happened

NOT yet buddy but i have tried some guys on google in kent iv been busy with some of my own work today. didnt get time but ill be getting on the phone tomoz thats for shore.

this is were the whole agency route for scaffs does for me get a bit dodgy
as we are supposed to make our way sometimes away from home with we deem our PPE,what happens when the HSE/SAFETY bod decides its not compliant with the companys spec. Then you could have the spanner or belt not being up top scratch.this may sound a joke but tis the way its going with some big jobs
forefront are a very well respected agency and this is not a digg at them personally but its a very grey area;)

It's some company's policy for all employees to wear a harness labourer or not mr high and mighty

its not me because im not high
and certainly not mighty;)
but he is true some companys do have a harness policy that states all scaffolding operatives will wear a harness at all times
i am my comrades have argued the case against this on occasion as it adds to wear and tear when tis unnecessary;)

Absoultey mate as I've stated before I was at sbg where that was the case and I think it is right but have responded to the lad a few times trying to point him in the right direction as he seems to have preconceived ideas about our industry, apologise if first post seems blunt gents but in most cases big firms on big jobs won't let them have a harness for the obvious reason

No apology required Bobby, all scaffolding personnel is fair enough but a grunny is a grunny, you only need a harness if there is a risk of a fall.

The argument is that if he has a belt on he wears a harness and fb has mentioned he has a belt
dont wear a belt dont wear a harness but the fb wants to learn,so there is the problem
but i have always maintained you only learn what a scaffolder needs next through being on the deck and reading the job and having it waiting for him on the rope/or through a window on a street job;)

best of luck wee man you sound keen

Soo will a trainee need a harness or not???
i know a labs stays on the ground but a trainee is up there with the spanners ????
just dont want to get my pants palled down!!!!
and when i get on my courses ill have all my kit ready

I once had a girlfriend who was very interested in the Harness I had in the boot of my car.......

So I invited her to try it on.....we had just left the pub at the top of Birdlip Hill, the Air balloon......she loved it and so did I....better than Scaffolding to SG4.10 :p

Fatboy, it may depend on who you are on for but no card means your on the deck lugging gear for the first year minimum here. I hope you get a start soon and if it means buying a harness just get one. George Roberts is doing a special on twin tailed £65, don't know your budget but that is not bad.
