Got to be honest, sounds like bull to me.

To Tell The Truth Alistair, Sounds Like Management Speak Claptrap To Me As Well What A Lot Of Tosh. More Money For An Abslolutely Pointless Three Days.

I agree. To be honest I am all for training and self improvement but FFS.

HSWT, like the sound of your mate wrestling with the trainer.:)

It may come helpful to some.education doesn't hurt.

The sad thing is, some numbnut in an office somewhere will think this is a great idea and they will probably make a mint out of it - way of the world. Look at the waste of time 5 day supervisors course - just another money making racket like making us advanced scaffs take a PASMA course!

Lol,i actually thought that course was very informative and probally the best one i'd been on until i discovered there was only two of us with advance tickets, one fella was not even a scaffolder,ffs:laugh::laugh:

We were "supervised" on one job by a bloke who had been a bus driver but had done the course. He even had the temerity to ask me "what's a ledger" - WTF???

don't get me wrong, i'm all for people bettering themselves, but we all know, now it's not about the best person, it's about money for course after course!

Who would take any notice of a superviser who is not advanced and or an experienced scaff??surely that should be a prerequisite??how the feck can a bus driver expect to be taken seriously:wacko:

In no way should any supervisor be required to have an advanced ticket to do his job. I can think of lots of jobs where that just wouldn't work.

Brogen sent 3 men on a supervisor course at Erith before Christmas not one of them had done scaffolding before, but now have a supervisor card. ALWAYS CHECK THE BACK OF THE CARD

Its not easy being a bus driver. Putting up with disgruntled people who keep asking why you are late, people pushing the bell so the can get off, little old ladies who take ages to get on the thing, mums with prams who take ages to get off and thats not to mention the traffic.

Not any supervisor, but a scaffolding supervisor,in any trade(even though we're still classed as labourer's with a spanner:eek:)you work you're way up through the ranks on merit, then after a good few years when you've achieved all the credentials your trade offers and have a plethora of knowledge through EXPERIENCE and begin to show good man management skill's,then you move on up to supervisor level, not in our game, any old chicken plucker or bus driver can turn up and claim to be a supervisor:mad:,get fecked, because i would'nt listen to em askin question's they should know through a lifetime of being in the trade,it's an insult to scaffolder's who have grafted all their working live's,ffs,i would'nt nor could'nt turn up at the local bus station claiming i was a supervisor, because i would'nt have a feckin clue, and would'nt have the brass neck, beside's being laughed out the depot:mad:

Take it you are a bus driver ?? a ssupv should have adv card, how the **** can he supv adv scaffs with a part 1..lol

Got to be honest boy's, I have been supervised by all sorts over the years.

haha, correct.:embarrest:

In all honesty, it probably makes me sexist but I have worked under the female of the species if you will pardon the pun and that was the only supervision I honestly could never take to. Tin bashers were always a favourite off shore for supervising the scaffs. We knew the job better than them but all we needed was someone to tell us what was wanted and where and get the permits oh and sign us for 15's.

There is always a silver lining to having a non scaff supervisor.;)
