Hi guys
I'm one of the 3 guys that was wait for wages from Robert hurst well just to let you all know they honoured there word and have paid me the full amount they owed me

Glad you got your money bud,well at least they kept there word.I havent seen any posts for jobs on here recently i just hope we havent lost them as they posted quite alot of jobs on here.Well like they say ALLS WELL ENDS WELL
 
I find it slightly disturbing that an agency is being praised for paying lads money they are entitled to - 3 weeks late!

Like I've said before, I don't see any need or place for agency's within the scaffolding industry.

It also says a lot about the character of these two individuals that they haven't commented or posted on this forum since Slav80 suggested they donate £100 to charity.

Yeah well hope you haven't been laid off a month before xmas like I have.Disturbing yeah well I find it disturbing being out of work this minute and there's not so many jobs going on here right now.Like I said before alls well ends well

Whether the work is through an agency or is directly through a scaffolding contractor, it makes no difference - They'd still be the same amount of work about!

I just don't see why a third party should profit from a man's hard graft.

Good luck with your job hunting anyway.

Phil what would happen if there were no agency's ? where would the companys go if say they needed 3 lads for a week , you cant start 3 lads for a weeks work then lay them of, the agency,s make a profit of course, but they do keep lads in work that would otherwise be out of work or being started for a week here and there
 
i think a lot of agency jobs tend to be for main contractors not actually scaffold companies, i may be wrong just most agency lads ive seen on sites tend to be daywork scaffolders for doing loads of little adaptions and stuff as and when needed, or falsework n formwork jobs where they work with the joiners
 
i dont know why there is not more labour-only gangs , i done it for years on a price basis and made real good money :)
 
agencys play an important role in the short term,as was said not many companys start men for the specified time of 1-4weeks.they seem to be playing a much bigger role these days,so therefore it must be as benifical to the scaffolding contractor as it is to the agency.i myself dont like to see 3rd partys profiting from scaffs hard graft but if they are being paid a fair wage and not being exploited then i belive its a fair avenue to work for many men.
 
Well you do need agencys especially in these hard times,not getting paid isn't good.That's the chance you take,I started work with a company this year and it went bust,did I get paid NO.At least slav has got paid finally.I'm hopefully going to work with 3 other lads on price work next week and its not through an agency let's see if we get paid the amount we should.I'm going to get the price e-mailed but we all know we will get nipped somewhere.Oh well let's see if I can get the kids more than a stocking full and roll on FUKCING 2011

Where ya been Swifty, this one caused uproar, dummies been thrown out of the pram, Taking the ball home, not wanting to play with us anymore, that was just the agency guy.All because a scaff wanted his hard earned. Apparently its sorted now,
 
Who is Robert Hurst? what does he do? I know the about the pricks that use his name Nik and the other knob, but who is Robert Hurst?
