Juesus your arse fell out quick you will never ever be a scaff.....
Fella your one sad lad with no prospects in life if you carry on acting like a dcik. You want to stat listening instead of being all attitude. I'm known as midge ask about me I was like you big chip on my shoulder did me no favours at all think about what your saying you sound like an idiot take it from someone who made them same mastakes. Easy to live and work the chilled out way less hassle no need to fall out with ppl but that is upto you but trust me it isn't a road I would adobe to go down !
You'll be the lowest.and being talked to like a dog is what u can experience when humping all the gear around whilst being watched.you will be treated like a bitch.if you can't handle that become a postman
There are many scaffs who I am wot ya gonna do offer them out for 500 quid every day lol there are some animals in this trade and you really don't want to talk to um in the manner you are podger isnt a bad in has gave some good advice out from what I've seen on here you should talked to ppl with resect and then ppl will do the same to you. If you talked to me like you are now 1 year ago I'd of bit and come and found you but I'm far more chilled out and really can't be bothers to fall out I learnt to channel my attitude into positive things like family motocross UFC etc etc and being polite to ppl. Maybe you need to grow up offering me out for money lol silly and childish.
I must say this thread is turning Big Rigesque.
Here's my take on it after reading today's recent comments.
Wads you know fuc.k all and you will know fuc.k all for a fair few years yet. Get your ars.e on site, keep your head down, labour and don't cheek any other scaffolders off like you have been on here, which leads to my final point...... Because you know fuc.k all!
To all employers don't let the bickering put you off me. Am a gud lad I am
Cos he will offer to fight you for 500 quid lol if you don't
Good look in trying to come in to a trade wot is dog eat dog at the min hardly no work around. I'd stay we're you are no experience no contacts of jobs in this trade you could be making a massive miss judgment. Best of look if you do go for it.
Welcome to the forum Wass ,
Ive been reading the thread with interest especially your posts , Your original post asks for advice but I personally think you were actually looking for a bit of reassurance as you yourself were beging to doubt weather paying out the thick end of a grand for a part 1 course was the right way to go .
Whilst you can not be faulted for your initiative I agree with the general consensus that it is somewhat misguided . IMO you need to severe your time (12 to 18mths min) as a laborer for two reasons firstly to familiarize yourself with the various components and the correct way to handle them . Also you will begin to earn the respect of your work colleagues and understand that the hierarchy of a scaffold gang is based on ability and experience and not necessarily what ticket you have .
On the subject of tickets after completion of your part 1 course you will still only be classed as a "trainee scaffolder" and there will be other trainees out there who haven't completed a part one course but have a great deal more on site experience than yourself so it wont be that much more of an advantage in todays competitive job market .
If you came on to my site with no practical experience other than your two week part one course you would be told to remove your harness and tools and start humping as you need to grow that second skin on your shoulder first
Having said all this I sincerely wish you the best of look with your change of career path
