celticbhoy " us scaffs have a special bond unlike any other trade id say"
Probably because scaffolding is team work really, which in itself generates a kinda commeraderie between the lads, which also leads in a way to a certain kinda socialising friendship, any decent scaffolder will have a load of peoples names in his fone mainly scaffolders who they have only met thru work yet keep in regular contact an even meet up for a few pints when say working in that area or summit,
all your brickies, joiners , welders etc etc are too busy poncing around thinking they are important , or working in their own little squads or alone not speaking to anyone trying to earn more money than anyone else on site so they can go buy a permanent marker and tell the world what they earned that week on back of the dunny door , just below that message thats always wrote on doors ,:toung::nuts:
maybe its because were that little bit more millitant minded than other trades, and can better tell a right from a wrong, when you hit the cobbles you cant decry another man for staying in...........but you then know what hes made of and you never put yourself in the position of relying on him ever again.

always thought energies are better channeled into the situation in question rather than the targeting of lesser willed individuals, which for me has always been the downfall of protestations and strikes.....it shows a lack of cohesive control of the men when bullying starts and more importantly takes the eye of of the pressing issue at heart.so my ethos is always just ostricise them and ignore them there is no gain in another mans pain.
whats james connolly got to do with an industrial dispute,or the corrossion of the national agreement(naecci)keep it real.ive heard that the lads down in pembroke are having problems with foreign labour, and others using local adresses INSTEAD OF CLAIMING THE DIG ALLOWANCE AS IN THE AGREEMENT,WE KNOW TIMES ARE HARD BUT THEY WILL BE HARDER IF THEY RIP UP THE AGREEMENT
James Connoly had no time for sectarianism, he was for the rights of all workers regardless of creed.james connolly was involved in the unions way back in 1900s and his points of view helped educate the workers in their fight against the bosses, nothing to do with sectarianism as most rangers fans think
