Kentledge

Just use a few pallets bought from a wholesaler of 'Fosters lager' for Kentledge, then when the job is ready to be stripped, i will be up there like a shot, no Pay required, Kentledge salvage will suffice.:D

Well done Paddy, never one to miss an opportunity. If you's ever fancy a road trip I think I can do much better than Stella, and sorry Coljon, this scaff aint payin digs.:toung:

Well boy's another big thank you from aom regarding this kentlidge. Picked up 4 tanks from the local fishfarm who were glad to get rid then the contractors who were struggling to get a hose long enough to pump water from a new bunded tank to a burn pumped the water straight into these tanks. Worked an absolute treat. Thanks again.

Don't think I could operate without it Phil.

Definitely, and where else is a country boy like me going to pick up wee nougats like this and the jacktie?

I love educating myself even at my age and this forum is the university of scaffolding, everybody a teacher, everybody a pupil, with a few comedians thrown in for good measure, where else would you get it. Oh' and I must'nt forget Big Rig and his imposter for their contribution in keeping us amused on quiet nights.

What can a ton block of kentledge hold got a screen 6m l by 4m high on a roof its gonna be up 4month

I would think if this was exposed to wind loads then an engineer would have to calculate the kentledge and it sounds pretty high profile so a design would be the wise way to go.

Ive just done one same type of size & it had to be a design dwg.- 30m long & every set of stds has a 1000lt bund (1tn) of water on it

Morning Guys,

Sorry a little misquote of the regulations from ISL I feel. Allowing 25% more in water kentledge makes little difference if there is a hole in the bottom of your container.

I have used loose fill be it gravel or water as kentledge many times that said there is a requirement that was in BS5973 and is still in TG20:13, 3.9.2 para 3 which states:

"Kentledge should preferably be of solid construction. However, if it is made up of materials that can flow, e.g. water or sand, the container should be of a construction that will not lead to catastrophic loss of kentledge if the container is ruptured, e.g. it should be containerised so that a rupture can only lead to a loss of 20% of kentledge."

You Can Get IBC's which are 1m square and hold 1000 ltrs which is a ton. You can get them from any farming suppliers or try ebay they are always advertised on there. Good Luck.
