Kentledge

cant you use 1 tonne bags of ballast or stones aom get them from all the big building suppliers then sell them 1 litre of fresh water weighs 1 kilo so you will need 1000 litre containers or lots of 2 litre water bottles pmsl ( can just imagine aom sending the wife to tescos for water )why not use concrete blocks in packs have them put straight on there then sell to the local builders

have heard of a fiem doing the concrete block route

only to find someone had nicked the blocks

water butts my old boss was always worried about some letting the water out

he just used long, was a proper pain as never had a hiab so all manual and getting them in was fun

try these AOM
Recycled Containers

but I'd go for 1 ton bags of sand if you can get them lifted in

Thanks for the link that's exactly what I was looking for. To be honest I might try again and go for the sand/rubble option but there is no way I'm doing a Gus and walking in loads of long. The jobs a couple of weeks away yet and will decide then but I think I'll be getting a few of these tanks to make sure.

Magic, never thought of that, well how's about it allan all the long you can eat for a descent day's pay.

he could just rant them in :laugh::laugh:

trouble is if you use a sh it load of tube and it ends up being there for months you might run out of tube

I think the water containers will be good, I can see how there are some concerns but on the whole no worse than any other. I do think the ton bags would be better but lifting them would be a problem on this site but will have a wee think about it as I don't really have to decide till the sheeting is ready to go on. One thing I do know is there is no way I'm using a load of tube, that would do my head in.

I think that the water idea is best and just to add a point, I have a few of these containers for storing things :amazed: and can tell you that the ones I have have a tap at the bottom which can be padlocked closed.

Just use a few pallets bought from a wholesaler of 'Fosters lager' for Kentledge, then when the job is ready to be stripped, i will be up there like a shot, no Pay required, Kentledge salvage will suffice.:D

Firm I worked for used to do cradles as well. We built a rig on a roof and crained 2 bales of blocks strapped with metal bands for kentledge, A few weeks later we got a call back, the lazy f###### brickies rather than getting their own blocks up used ours, lucky there was no accident, but could have been.

We;ve got about 40 alluminium transfer tanks in the yard hold about 200 gallons. Surprised the pikeys haven't had them away yet :D

The square tanks in crates have a tap on the bottom Aom, you can get a blank end for them , the tap screws off and the end screws on, it will help stop people letting water out tho you can unscrew the blank lol

put blank on, fill it, screw a piece of ply across to stop access to blank , but remember to take screwdriver when you go to strip job lol:nuts:

OAM, When your ready to fill them, why don't you all go out for a good night out but don't go to the toilet untill you get on site, you should fill them in no time.... but avoid the curry:idea:
