hello lads , nice to meet yas yessir ;]

I have heard of them, but know little about them tbh...
I have done a fair bit for Agencies in the past... im something of a freelancer, jumping from here to there - Agency to Firm, Firm to Agency, lol.

Some are good, some are crap.
Minstrells? Not sure... but someone here will know about them.

kwikstage might be ***** but dubai was built with the ***** so it does have its uses and like it or lump it that ***** needs a cisrs card as well.
which may stop the brickies and roughcasters getting away with throwing it up for themselves and maybe throw a wee bit of graft back at the troops--------------IF THEY WANT IT

It didn't bother the bas tards when you were supposed to have the full card so the need for a product card will not stop them. This will mean less work for the troops if they want it or not.

its the companies ,, most men are lookin for a days work theses days ,, hard times ,,

Kwikstage is shi1e in my opinion and I only have to design using it sometimes.

The best system is Layher....by far, just my opinion.

100% agree.

Its almost sexy. :)
Miles the best of all the System Scaffolds.

Imo.

Van Theil's not bad, but thats like a hybrid of Tube and Fitting and System.

Are we allowed to bring cost considerations in to this argument?

No! lol.

Luckily enough, as a mere Scaffolder and not having to worry about that sort of stuff, NO! :p

But, id guess that Layher aint cheap and thats probably the main reason why Kwikstage is still used today.

you will get more scrap value for lahyer or cuploc and the end of its workin life than kwikstage ,, plus alot more years loyal servive ,, and it dosent rust ,,, ;]

I thought that part of Kwikstages sales pitch was that it was made rusty... before a single drop of rain hits it, lol.

Never seen it not covered in rust.

No! lol.

Did you catch the discussion on Scaffold Market or what ever it's called on linked in? A couple of good guys kicked me all over the place regarding this subject and made some good points. I didn't agree with any off them but they were good.

No mate, i got so much going on theres little i get to actually view on LinkedIn... i should get involved on it more though.

Would you say that the cost is worth quality of the product?
I would say it is, but then again - im not the one shelling out for it.

Here We Are Again, Running Down That Marvelous Modular System Scaffold Known As Kwikstage, Jings Will We Never Learn Eh?

Depends on a lot of factors, not for me I just use system for box scaffolds and new builds and tubing for everything else. I was talking to one guy who felt that there was not a scaffold built that could not be replicated using layher which may well be true but I felt he assumed tubing contractors worked under a wide margin of error where the system user required a greater emphasis on accurate measurements and surveys. It was quite interesting but he made a brave decision to swap tube for layher at a tough time when clients were looking for a cheaper option. He reckoned the labour time saved, more than made up for the additional buying costs.

I couldn't see myself ever being in the same position but never say never.

Gerscaff, you would have loved this guy, put forward a very compelling argument.

Ya.

The speed is considerable.
I remember when i was a kid, on TRAD... 3 of us, (with the aid of a crane), struck 60 Square or so of Layher in a few hours.

The Scaffold was a perfectly straight run too.

Staggeringly quick.
Staggeringly easy to use.

But get it on an Industrial job, like a Powerstation? - Might be hard to use it then, lol.

One question sprang to mind, how would you accommodate pipe work using steel decks, is there some way of forming a gap in a deck anywhere you like.

Aom i see that argument you and terry had
