i was under the impression and indapendant can stand freely to the hight of 4 times its minimum dimention so with of the scaffold 4 times high dont need tied may have understood it rong on the course but thats what it sounded like to me

I was under the impression that it only applied to tower scaffolds. They used to be described as external static tower, internal static tower and mobile tower etc.
I always assumed a tower scaffold had 4 standards. Any more and it became an independent or birdcage.
