Thanks allan

Any idea on a phone number to ring?

Am planning on doing the part 1 scaff course but need some work experience as a labourer 1st. Have you any tips for me mate ? or any contacts? I own my own transport and am willing to travel anywhere in the north west to gain the experience. I also own a CSCS card. Any info would be really appreciated!

Cheers Neil

Neil most people now are just doin there part 1 course before they have even touch'd a tube! because its alot easier 4 people to get a job as a trainee. believe me m8 when i did my part 1 course there was 3 guys what didnt even know what a double was lol. personaly i dont agree with it i think the CISRS should not run the course as it is because it's a guarantee pass, the instructors even told us on our 1st day of the course. 1 guy didn't get the correct percentage on his final test and they just let him do it again str8 after explaining to him what answers he got wrong lol. but your correct m8 if your just starting out and you do want to make scaffolding your career, then my advice is get some experiance as a labourer it will be alot better for you and safer! and if you do land with a decent firm they might even put you through it for you as it costs just under a grand!

good luck on your career m8

Sid

Julian Gammage was Executive Director of Cape UK onshore work and in charge of 4000 personnel and joined Pyeroy in Jan 2009 as Industrial service Director, they are working with Cape on the biggest paint job for the Royal Navy in 6 ship yards and Cape are supplying the access for Pyeroy to shot blast and paint Aircraft Carriers, i think they are using cuplock on that bout 9 years work worth bout 100 million between them. God im good:cool:

I'd say your correct with them using cuplock as cape all over the U.K have been starting to use it over tube & fitting for some years now!

but i'd say your not correct on you been good

Julian Gammage was Operations Director (Onshore) for Cape. Knows the scaffolding Industry inside out and a good, straight bloke as well.
The other ex Cape lads at Pyeroy are Mike Ryan and Jim Anderson.
Sid makes a comment about Cape using Cuplok all over the UK but I would say in the North East it is about 80% Tube & Fitting and 20% Cuplok.

julian gammage, long time since ive heard his name mentioned....another old boy of capes was barry godwin, straight bloke as youll ever meet, not forgetting tony(tiptoe taylor) from scunny!! is barry and tony still alive and kicking soul hawk?
