Yeah but you usually spend up to 2hrs a day in the cafe or travelling when your working off the back of a lorry, all pends on what your getting and if your not a driver you gotta hope your not stuck with a numpty... Never worked for them but heard they ain't a bad firm, not like admiral just round the corner lol (I'm Henry the eighth I am)

Hahaha yes bobby, Not too sure what kind of work they getting to be honest but you are right 4:30 is abit much. wouldn't say a fan but yeah I gave les the opportunity of signing up a super Scaff couple years back but obviously bill and hes bullshitting self went and ****** up my wages so I was off after the second week.... Who's got time to be chasing down money you've already earnt??? Not me lol!!!!

Wish I had ur attitude mate I go mental if I'm a tenner short!!! Lol I myself haven't had the 'pleasure' of working for em but apart from training (which they have produced some right good lads btw worked with loads) and jumpers ain't heard much else about em that would make me jump ship

Rang the lad this morning he said he only wants someone that can drive the lorry?? Why didn't he just put that in the advert in the first place.Didnt sound that clever if I'm honest....

Yeah I gave him a call aswell and was thinking the exact same thing

Castle are mainly a street firm and some of their jobs are top notch , 6.30 in the yard is the norm on the street work they probably get back to the yard about 3.30 to load up for the morning.

More then likely a 10 hour shift... including loading for next day.
Driving a lorry for how much extra? £5? £10? at the most.

So a Basic Scaffolder with HGV might (if he's lucky, or an arselicker) earn £145 for a 10 hour shift - IF they are lucky the traffic is good and they can actually leave site by 3:00pm?!?

Sounds a bargain.

Its not just about the money though jay...u gotta remember your more employerble wiv a c cat than without it... many firms out there would choose a guy with one over someone without...but also in the winter months when its too cold to turn a spanner you can sighn on with a driving agency as c cat drivers are always in demand

Plenty of people have given me the same advice.
While its good advice (it really is), when the time comes i let a bit of cold weather bother me, might be best to hang up my Spanners completely. :)

That AND im a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Lorry driver.
Essex will confirm how bad i am, lol.

Castle are a good firm, a very good friend of mine works in their office, trouble they have is they just can't get decent lads.

Wont want you then.
My offer still stands Chris, im WELL up for it.
One day 'pal', one day.

And No Jason they won't want me as they are looking for a lorry driver, have you not read the rest of this thread?

Maybe they are alright but if you're only looking for a scaffolder that can drive the lorry you should say that.Saves a phonecall!.Im working in the city and doing street work and I start at 8 and finish at 4.30 so I don't think it is the norm to start at 6.30am,it's pretty early by anyone's standards.Just Didnt sound all that.

Standard start from my experience is: 8:00am. Hazard a guess that 95% of Firms in the UK start at 8:00am...
6:30am start = overtime or atleast more money, no?

Good luck to them.6.30 the norm!? Then finish at 4.30pm hmmmmmmm
