take it youre seeing what rates people expect, so you can pay em the least you can get away with cozzy and win some work?

cos you dont seem to have any pal despite advertising and collecting cvs ;)
 
Rates should be higher, everyone knows that.
Rates will never be higher because of this fabricated lie called: "Recession".

There is no recession... only the scaremongering/myth the money men have put in place to lower our money and standard of living.

Companies all over continue to show record profits, yet there is "recession".
Drive around London... theres never been so many Skyscrappers being built.
Trainstations being renovated.
Powerstations built.
Oil and Gas are screaming out for workers...

Thats just Construction.
Think how many shops opening up? loads.

As for rates: I expect £150 a day to work in London or i work for someone else.
Other places should be only about £10 a day less, if that.
Imho.

Amazes me how someone will happily work for £8 an hour...
Desperation? Well id rather not work, then graft knowing someone was ripping me off.

Being on the 1st run of the managment ladder jason has not dulled ur sences...until u hit middle managment with a firm understanding of profit & loss -cashflow over turnover & grasp the dynamics of company finances & wage structures i'm afraid no-one @ a senior level would everthink to take your immature & uneducated comments seriously leading to the fact that you want to better yourself will only ultimately mean that you get to keep your wish and only ever be a scaffolder

I also fully understand something called: a discussion - seeing as we're on an online Forum, id thought you could grasp that too.

People today are STILL driving around in new cars, wearing designer clothes, spending copious amounts of money on drink, drugs, holidays, you name it, same as they ever was AND companies (from BP to Bobs Drycleaners) are STILL making record profits.

Bankers are getting big bonus's, Billions £'s are STILL being spent on Construction.
New Businesses are STILL opening up each day, people are still buying houses.

Recession is NOT as people say it is.
Certainly not where people are expected to work for £80 a day...

In my opinion (which im ENTITLED to have) the Recession is a lie.
 
Jason's right about London theres lots of work about but the rates seem to be going up just look at the agencies offering up to £22.50 few weeks ago, compared to about 4/5 month ago. There was a job advertised £13 hr " better get in quick there's a lot of scaffs out of work will be easy to fill!!" For an agency couldn't believe it, it even had a thread on here about it tut
 
Look im not saying people aint struggling... but historically, people have always struggled.

But dont expect to offer shiite wages and say: "hey well you know, recession im afraid" all the while your still earning pretty much same as you always did.

Our rate dropped so low a while ago, all the while NOTHING seemed to have changed.
Profits were still being made made etc etc, well - read my above 2 previous comments.

Did it drop because things were THAT TOUGH?
No... i dont believe so.

It dropped because of GREED.
And this falsehood Recession.

IMHO.

Lots of others agree when i speak to them about it.
No one here will admit it, because no one has any balls left.
 
As for ppl still going out spending on clobber,cars and titanium spanners etc its all down to there little plastic friend in there wallet trust me I know :(
