There is a lot of posts on here regarding rates ie:wages hourly pay day rates etc. This had me thinking seeing everyone wants better rates can i ask what would you expect to be paid for a 8 hour shift nationwide.advanced part 2 and part1(Trainee).
Lets look at these areas

Southampton(south coast)
Ipswich (East Anglia)
Kent
London
Cardiff
Birmingham
Liverpool
Manchester
Newcastle(North east)
Nottingham
Lincoln
Cumbria
Glasgow(Scotland)

This should make intresting reading in the different rates nationwide between north and south.

Mmm,big difference in what you would exspect and whats actually the going rate in your area, also different divisions of work will reflect different pay scales,in the north west for site/street work it would be in the region of 100-120 for advance,80-100 pt2,and about 60 a day for labourers,of course, cards mean feck all nowadays other than safety officers insisting you have one,i would say your pay would reflect your ability to put the work in,having an advance card does not automatically put you on the top rate;)

Supply and demand like everything else. I know of plenty of young scaffolders banging up system for under 8 quid an hour in Glasgow. Too many permutations for my head.

you think these rates are bad,i went for an hgv class two job yesterday, must have fork lift truck license to,interview went well, right up to were he said, start at 7,30,till 4,30,42 hours a week,in winter the driver has to salt the rd and clear snow, before getting in wagon, for, get this,£6.60 an hour.£277.20 a week, plus £2 a day bonus for attendance .£287.20 then tax and ni took out,i just left, laughing.

Average agency rates in Manchester;
2007-16.00 to 17.00 an hour. This is what I considered average at the times.
2009-15.00 an hour.
2011- 13.50 an hour.
2012-to 2013-12.00 an hour offering.

These are considered to be the rates put forward by agencies when I enquired about what they are offering.

Very true and most firms in the north west are paying around £90 a day cards in for part 2 an 8 hour shift which is a joke really

im getting £16 an hour from agency at moment so happy witht that

Part 2 - 140 for 8 hours south coast

that was the norm down south 2008 its more £120 £130 these days for a part 2 if you get a van with desiel card then its worth £150 £160 a day think the biggest out lay for a scaffolder these days is the car!!!!
