The correct spec for the Unit beam bolt is as follows:

Black Hex Head Bolt
M20x45 to BS4190
Grade 4.6 with 1.5D Thread Length with M20 Washer.

Most people make the mistake of using a bolt with a full length thread which is in fact a Set Screw and not a bolt. A Bolt has an un-threaded section thus a greater shear capacity than a Set Screw.
