Morning Lads,

Have any of you guys been on Sellafield before? We may have a job coming up there for a rather large firm.

He has asked us if guys will have IOSH Working Safely ticket, is this the equivalent to a CCNSG/Safety Passport?

Any feedback would be much appreciated

Regards

Mike - RHL

No iosh is a health and safety ticket the same as nebosh, does he want a supervisor?

Sellafeild

Hi Mike,

Having just finished at Sellafeild last week i can tell you that the IOSH modules are what you need for a Supervisor job, I have 12 but i think the new courses now have been condensed down to 6 or 8 there is no need for a scaffolder to have these to work on site but a Chargehand usually needs to have 3.I hope this is beneficial to you. Regards,Ian.

done my part 2 just waiting to my assesment there a nother 2 men they are part 2 we all work in a gang we are looking for work

Worked on Sellafield for a few years, one of the best jobs i ever had.

I did not want to do it but d s l said that all foreman / supervision had have it did not cost me any thing apart from five days of my life

i have also been working on sellafield with nadder who has posted about this issue and i have just completed a 4 day managing safely iosh course which is a minimum requirement for supervision on site and if you are gonna be recruiting scaffs for sellafield then all will need to be site security cleared with a current P4 passed and also scotland disclosure

sellafield the bad old days, crackin villages for digs and nightsout thou now thats what makes or breakes a job

With the P4 pass does it have to be renewed everytime?

As from what i have read, if you leave the site you have to give the p4 pass back and if you change companies you need to renew the pass, is this correct?

Thanks

what happens is when you change companys it takes 3 working days to change over your paper work then your pass is over to your new employer. your pass is renewable every 12 month which is straight forward if you are still site based but if you leave site then your pass is only valid from the day you hand it back to the pass office which by law that you hand it back

mike pm poacher turned game keeper or craig witt they have both bene on site recently

Mike for a start the site is bad enough with out you agency's getting a sniff granted capita outsourse management jobs but not blue collar roles ie scaffs etc. IOSH Working Safely is a one day course required for some parts of the site depending on the Superintending Officers (SO) discretion. Some allow safety passports. And most importantly the P4 pass you as an agency would not be able to sponsor employees for a start a main contractor would have to do all the paperwork on your behalf.

Keep blue collar agencys off Sellafield the Scaffs firms are bad enough to start with.
