Is it me or is it time to get out of scaffolding because from what I'm seeing our trade is well and truly fcuked 3 year running now !£4000 grand in courses is it worth it I no around where I'm from Lincolnshire it's really bad for work ATM.....
 
I know for a fact Turners where starting guys near the end of last year and they where getting £11 an hour

Job is right round the corner from thier offices in Govan

I got to say that this is a genuine shocker, especially when Turner +8 is a leading System Scaffold Installer and a Member of NASC---very surprised indeed...
 
it is a ******* joke mate i have spent loads like midge my mate,this games had it i think,cant do nothing if we all dont stick together,and thats not going to happen,with the ******* from abroad,who get the good jobs,but cant ******* do them,same old thing all time lads

its not just the companies lads,its the wannabe scafs from outside our country,whos messing everything up aswell,but good luck to everyone,if you get good job,you"ll be lucky this year i think.
 
I may have worked for this outfit in the past around 12 years ago. Is it the same lot that use the '+8' system scaffold? They werent a bad firm to work for back then, but £7.66 an hour these days is total crap.
One last thing, It must be way below the scaffolders rate, so can they do this?:huh:

The only reason I was asking this is that I have only worked cards in once in around 12 years and the 'going rate' last year was £11.00 per hour. Mostly I have been either a subby or worked for agencies.

Dont think I'll be bothering with an application for THIS little advert. either way.:sick:
 
Think I read a on the Forum lately that Scaffolders rate min rate is £10 46p---

Offering a Scaffolder £7.66 to work at height is well beyond insult---my God what the feck is it coming too...have they no shame ???.

Just another greedy sh1te firm Garry trying to rob every last man due to the present climate of the country
 
Turners where a good company when they where on the rig yards on teesside in the 70s ,had a yard on STOCKTON RD really thought they where finished with scaffolding has ive never heard anything about them for yrs,just goes to show how companies change when there is a chance of cheap foreign labour
 
Huh think I got that rate as a labourer trainee 10 years ago!

Time for job change if firms are offering that!
 
That's why I stopped working on the street and try to stay on blue book sites lot better rates unless you can get a good day rate the scaffolding trade is so frecking bad regarding money and foreign labour...
We need rid stand together unite and set our terms our conditions.
Not so long ago our trade was top of the industry now even tin bashers have more power than us it disgraceful........
