ASW Scaffolding looking for scaffolders to work in the north london area .
mill hill,finchley , golders green ,hammersmith. a weeks trial leading to a long run of work for those WILLING AND ABLE to travel around and work.
hours 7.30 to 4.00 , self employed , paid through umbrella company, no digs paid , no travelling time paid .SMSTS or SSTS an advantage not essential
advanced £145 , part 2 £135, part 2 not assesed £110, part 1 £110, labourer experienced £80, not experienced £70 per day .

They go though an umbrella company to pay your wages as they put you as self employed they then put you on there books to pay your wages and tax you as payee not to sure of it all but that's kinda how it works from what I can make out.

it means your wages are paid to you minus expenses. for example £500 on cis means they take 20% from you at source and you fill out your SA at year end, gross less expenses = net turnover. With an umbrella company, they put your expenses, mileage, ppe on weekly meaning you pay less tax per week - it's just an agency fiddle, however, more and more actual contracors are paying like this now. I still don't how it can be legal to charge you to get your wages!

Isn't the umbrella company the payroll part of these fiddles that charges you to process your wages? Generally £15/£20 per week? A lot of agencies use them as they don't have a payroll set up for it? I maybe wrong.

umbrella company/agencies are robbing c unts so stay well clear! this is why the scaffolding trade if fcked because the agencies drive down the hour rate but there profits still stay the same so its the scaffolder how takes the hit it's a disgrace!! the agency are just pen pushers and most of them don't have a clue about scaffolding plus also an umbrella company takes money from your hard earned wage so they can process your wages which is out of order!!!! i have worked for few agencies and to be honest there is always some problem so i would advise to stay well clear!

I've worked for ASW and they pay through a company called Boss, didn't have any probs at all and they paid every penny on time, dont knock it!

Agreed the systems ****** anyway its a good stepping stone and better than any agency
