scaffolders-required-in-australia

what would i need to get job like this fred mate.would i need to apply for visa from there embassy first,or sponership needed.

Young persons working holiday visa is the best way. You have to be under 30 I think. Or else emigrate if you can get enough points and dont have a criminal record.
South Australia is the only state at the moment that issues temporary work visas for scaffolders and then only if sponsored by a company with authorisation to do so.
Remember these jobs on the east coast pay about 14 quid an hour before tax.

31st birthday is cut off point as long as its granted you can come anytime up to a year after issue.the big bucks are in the mines but I'm in Perth leading hand and I ain't complaining bout my wages.but standard of scaffolding is shocking here to say the least

thats why they need experience scafs from uk,cant understand why cut of age is 30,whats wrong with upto 50 then you can say you"ve got experience, even if in the game from 17 to 30 still only 13yrs behide you, thats nothing in my book, god first 4or5yrs your still basic learning,we are all learing all the way through our scaffolding career but cant beat long term experience.

Sitting on the beach, with a beer and some 'shrimps on the barbie' would be nice after work, better then fighting your way through the Underground and grappling for an empty seat. ;)

That soon gets boring Jason, believe me, I speak from experience...

So does 10 people fighting for 1 uncomfortable seat, lol.

Hey guys I'm new to scaffs fourm and still new to this game in general, only scaffin for 3yrs now so still pretty green. I've sorted a visa to Oz an intend on moving to Perth shortly. I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of a couple of good firms to work for out there

True about the good coin when working on the mines Digsie, way it up with your time off you are still on reasonable money, even saying it is about the time off you have, to enjoy those prawns on the barbie!.
Surprised at the quality of scaffolding you are working on?? From my experience of managing companies in the Pilbara, the standard of scaffolding was quite good, as scaffs from the UK are already here, so please enlighten me on where you are working.

Workin in Perth city mate won't say with who but when it comEs to anything other than a straight run blokes I'm with don't seem too clued up(compared to home)just gettin the basics wrong.try this one wish I had pictures, one of our top blokes done a little spur up with kwikstage put ledger in upside down into a one star on a 3board tranny the spur was under the bottom ledger and over the top ledger and had the checks wrong side. Some good lads here but some cowboys too, suppose it's the same as home comin to think of it.

Yeah I have seen Aussie scaffolding and it is too clever ,I was talking to an British stonemason there and he said he had worked on a scaffold with the transoms fixed under the ledgers
Down under I suppose

Happy where I am long as I keep my eyes open I'm fine.getting sponsored too so goin to take a lot of shifting for me to move on.;)

Transoms the Stone mason was on about Nick59 was probably the Aberdeen Transoms.
Transoms for the boards as we know, they call them puttys here!!

I am sure he was talking about the boards on puttys as they call em there

I agree mate about the standards of some scaffolds in and around perth, thats because you can get an advanced ticket in a couple of weeks with little or no experience in scaffolding,i done a conversion only yesterday to aussie advanced and it took all of 4 and a half hours...absolutely shocking!!
