Company i'm working for is starting a job in Edinburgh straight after the new year and they are looking for a couple of Local scaffs. The job duration is about 6 months. It's all heavy civils work of the RC framing type, so it's a typical paddy job - haki staircases, handrails, ladder access's, working with Periform brackets for the concrete gang etc, so it's not going to suit everyone. They do like their pound flesh, I'm not going to kid you, but it's betting than sitting on the dole through jan and feb.

The rate is around £13 an hour straight through and the site hours are normally 7-30 am - 5.30 pm. You get paid through and umbrella company and it's either PAYE or CIS. There's no fee from the umbrella company. Its up to you to negotiate with the contracts manager and striking a balance between what you think your worth and what he's prepared to pay in the current economic climate. i've not got anything to do with the hiring and firing all I'm doing is passing on numbers. if your interested, pm me your name, a contact number, grade i.e basic advanced, and a brief history of the type of work you've been doing and I'll pass the numbers on to the GF whose going to be running the job. I've tried to give you as much info as possible so you know what to expect. Have a nice xmas chaps and lets hope next year is better than this one.

Note I'm too old and grown up to get into an argument about rates, umbrellas companies etc, so you can rant about no digs, no overtime etc to your hearts content, I won't be replying. I'll only reply to the lads who take their time to pass their details on and are interested in the job.

Good post gunslinger - sure that will suit some chaps

hey gunslinger, im an edinburgh lad & me and mate woul be very interested! i have experience but dont sit my part 1 till the end of jan but my mate is a fully carded part 2! were good to go at anytime! dont know

good post, did not like the "paddy" bit, however, it's good to know they still like their "pound of flesh" they did when I went to school over there :-0

PM me your details and I'll pass them on mate. worth a punt if nothing else.

i can only presume it was a refrence to concrete work which is prodomminently of the irish persuasion rightly or wrongly.this type of work is not always appreciated by scaffs but the info posted i think has put anyone in no doubt what they are getting into.
best of luck to all applicants and thanks to the gunslinger

That's exactly what it was mate. You know the apple, all they are interested in is pouring the "grey gold" - everything else is secondary!:blink1:

Aww you made me blush now rigger!lol

Thanks to the lads that have PMed me, I'll make a list of the names and numbers and pass them on. just heard another firm i worked for this year is also starting a job in Edinburgh, so I'll give the construction manager a ring next week and pass the numbers on to him too, it's the same sort of crack, all RC work. It's out of my hands after that, but best of luck lads. If we don't look after each other, no fooker else will! once again have a great xmas lads, don't drink too much or talk to strange women!:toung::laugh:

all the best to you to gungsliger and to the rest of the boys on here.
