The days when employers rang you up and offered work is I am afraid long gone

the best these days is as above when you are in direct contact with the employer and you can sort your deal

normally it is through agencies "send your CV we will be in touch".

There are a lot of good lads out there seeking work and the employers know this and are driving rates into the ground through various agencies.

Good for keeping down the cost of labour, but of little use to the guy with three kids and a mortgage

Look at the stickies at the top of the Jobs thread, lot of advice in there, there are a lot of employers on here

It may help if you post a profile of yourself age,where you live,transport, licence what jobs you have worked on

keep checking the jobs thread there are usually 20/30 posted every working day

these lot are tw@ts me & my work mate gave up a job with another firm on a promise of work, we said we needed to give a weeks notice & they were fine with it, so we gave our notice on the monday & these fookers rang us on the friday & said sorry we havn't got any work for you now, by then our other employers had replaced us, was out of work for a few weeks, total w@nkers
