Scaffold design when non TG20?

Hi There.
I have a new scaffold company start working for me, with my other gangs i have always had a design for a specific scaffold detail that is not covered under theTG20 regs.
The new guy has told me the regs were ammended in Jan 2012 and a generic drawing would cover this requirement.
Is this accurate or just some "B"

Most large firms have a scaffold solutions manuel that has generic drawings that can get around most things, so you just photocopy the scaffold drawing you want and then attach to your rams and you are covered, we have a separate file for all design jobs and enclose a copy for the tag man to keep with his scaffold register, and Hertel like Cape still use F91's. :blink1:

Hi there thank you for the information, if i understand you correctly you have generic drawings of beams and the like in use rather than a photo copy of a beam and loadings from the beam manufactura i have been supplied with.

Hi Dave

The manufacturer's technical data sheets show only the beams safe working limits, where as the generic drawings that T ANIMAL has shows the beam in use. Usually something like a simple bridge or cantilever with a couple of lifts on it, supplementary couplers (if needed) and some loadings to show that the beam is working within it's capacity.

As long as what you are erecting is within the scope of the drawing it will satisfy most requirements.
