To be honest mate the donkey's i have seen offshore you would get off with a trainee. A polish lad had been scaffolding for 8 years, yes 8 years and when I asked him to go down a dropper (seen as it was the 8th day into 14 day shift and he had only fetched gear and eaten all he could in his breaks) he discovered he had a limp........... strange...............When he finally admitted on the last but one day he had only been offshore for 3 trips. This being his 3rd, had only used tube and fitting the twice before he had been offshore.
SO there is hope for everybody isn't there?????

Mad thing is.....................he has a regular 2 on 2 off over English scaffs who can do there job and only get the call for over the side work, as the Dutch **** themselves.

It wont hurt to send your cv in but as Markus has pointed out they are asking for part 2 minimum. You would be better off getting your assesment done sharpish so you dont miss the shutdowns during the summer months

You'll have more of a chance if you have a part 2 card

where did you get this from mate? cant see it on there facebook or website?

cheers

Just to let all you first timers offshore or anybody trying to get off first time, on my way home from my trip last week, I had an overnight stay in Aberdeen, I got talking to three lads who had just started with Salamis and had never been offshore before, they were heading off to the Ninians, so Salamis are definately still taking on first timers, keep on trying lads you may well strike lucky.

dont suppose theyve any work for a part 1 with 5 years offshore experience , cant be many of those around , another hypocrisy of the industry is that part 2's have no experience building hangers , is the idea that you go offshore learn to build a hanger , then that way when you go and do the advanced youy already know how to build it. lol
