what test do they give you for kml to work dutch sector any info would be great lads

not sure , i'll be sure to let the forum know after i do it.

I heard its a proper trade test conducted by one of the senior Dutch supervisors using the wedge doubles.
Apparently they give you a drawing and it has to be spot on.
They also give some written tests about HSE etc.

i no guys who have gone for test and failed the h/s test ,got through the scaff test no bother ,but said h/s test was the dogs ********, guys who had worked in the industry for yrs had no idea what they where on about ,when the company where told that if they want guys from the uk to work there they had better have another think about the h/s test, one guy said it looks if is designed to fail the uk guys

Do you mean the Dutch VCA Safety Diploma, i sat it last August in Holland, you need it for petrochem work.

back in 2000 , myself and 25 others sat the vca , the guy said we'd all failed , but to come back the next day , 15 came back and he failed us all again , then we told him we'd smash some cars up in the car park , and he said if we came back the next day we'd definetly pass , back then there was so many people sitting it day by day they failed people deliberately , i got it on the third attempt

I didn't find it too bad , basic common sense but out of the 8 guys that went to Holland 6 of them failed, one lad failed 5 times its not the content of the exam, its getting your head round the translation to English from dutch and how the questions are worded .

when b.i.s took over one of the dutch mobs mobuco a few years ago they gave all their scaffs a trade test , i think this is just a similar thing , although it will be using the doubles with the pins , and the van theil double or whatever its called , a lot of brits arent happy about building droppers and hangers with those doubles with the pins and i think they are just making sure the guys they employ are okay with their system of work.
I dont expect drawings or anything like that .

its good to know dutch mobs are making work available for the british and that their is a mob out there wanting british scaffs , for the past few years it seems it was becoming all polish and turkish , this outfit are talkin about work for years so it could be a good thing for lots of brit scaffs

when i went , it was supposed to be pre shut down work, the agency wanted British lads for the tube and fitting in and around tanks and silo's, when we got there the tanks and silo's had been done in cuplok, we ended up working in a 8 man turkish squad putting a hanger in under pipe racks, the turks seemed to get all the cream and overtime because of a turk foreman, who ( GET THIS ) Had been scaffolding for 3 yrs but looked after all his mates , we were the only two brits on the job, couldnt speak dutch, couldnt speak turk, it was mad.
