Mills fittings

I just about remember seeing some of them but can't recall ever using them. It's just one of these things that is going to irritate me for some time to come.
 
Dont get that trouble with t + f al, unless you get some useless twwat that cant use a tape.

Exactly Den, one of the many reasons I prefer it and never venture out the office when system is going up. From a safety viewpoint I do prefer seeing steel on our hop-ups but they are awkward.
 
I take it system is going up today then.....lol.

I keep temps set in the van...2 pieces of timber set at 38' and two at 47' for the deck and two set at 21' and 11' for the inside boards, cant go fecking wrong wi it.
 
System coming down today which is even worse. The sun is shining here for a change which means the boys will be enjoying getting a stretch. The apprentices are on the tools and scaffs carrying, they won't be as happy.;)
 
The way its got to be mate, they dont learn by standing there watching. Nice weather....get the clubs out man.
 
Braw idea, might have a hit once I finish the 2 or 3 estimates I have to do.

They have, in a round about sort of way.
It must be the mills double you are talking about.
When using mills doubles, the trannie sits right down on top of the ledger double meaning you can put your intermediate trannies on with singles and it won't affect the level.

Can't see how that'd be better for splays though.:nuts:

Hold on a min mr stroppy pants...after7 pages which not only included your original answer but also much more info from a variety of members & experiance i dont think its very socialble to start insulting some of the more established members - next time you need info people may not be so quick to join ur thread :toung:
 
The other good thing about using the mills double on trannies is that you can use that trannie off the doubles as a tie tube as its on load bearing fittings, which then gets rid of the additional tube required for tying.

Its for the ledgers on the standard set in the splay, you can get them sat right down on top of each other and the trannies still run level. Similar to when people use singles on the ledgers and check them :eek:

They do fit bob on, you might just have to put some of the ledgers on the outsides of the standards to stop them clashing, dependent on the angle of the splay.
