Man in Attendance Required Starting Tomorrow for housing site in Newton Mearns. Immediate start. Must be Part II CISRS Qualified. Phone AHL Scaffolding on 07785 523688.
 
just some clarification here , a part 2 is not required to lift hop ups , a part1 could do it , but part 2's earn agencys and companies more money and you need the part 2 for when your asked to build and strip jobs yourself , which we all know is a really safe and an ideal way to work. Also watch out for those pesky brickies and labourers , theyre out there gettin their hop up cards and some day soon theyre gonna put you out of a job. Although its still a mystery to me how its gonna work , no self respecting company would let brickies and labourers **** with a scaffold.

Just to clarify, a part 1 is not deemed to be a scaffolder - nor competent to work alone.

A part 2 would be the minmum requirement to carry out any basic scaffolding works unsupervised. A 'part 2' is also the minimum level that someone could argue that they were a qualified scaffolder - a part 1 is still a trainee.

Forget the rights and wrongs of it mate, that's the way it is.
 
I know you are right Phil but what about a part 1 with a product card? He is now as trained and ticketed as the rest of us when working with system. I might be wrong as ever but that's the way it's heading up here anyway.

Maybe, but show me a system scaffold on site that is 100% system with no tube and fitting sections whatsoever.

Had an interesting chat with a man who put forward a very strong argument for just that. He reckoned using Layher there was not a job built with tube and fit that could not be replicated in system. Even tie tubes and plan brace now come in system without the loss of any headroom, or so they tell me.

Yeah that is true mate and if it doesn't exist then they'll engineer it for you.

The problem is that from a commercial point of view, it would be impossible to have enough kit and or spend enough money to cover all scenarios with a system.

Individual jobs can be assessed and the correct materials sourced, but when you're working on a site and the customer is requesting variations and modifications on a reactive basis, then having the correct kit in system starts getting a little bit difficult...
 
Yeah, I agree. My goal is always to empty the yard especially at holiday time, it may mean topping up our stock to make it all work depending on the jobs at hand and I did wonder what his yard would look like and would they ever get to the bottom of the pile.
 
I'll pop in for a few ours in august marra while out trecking am sure ill clear ya yard with in the day lol wontt see argyll for aom flags ahahha
 
You would be welcome in my yard any day of the week matey but I would prefer it emptied during the day and built not in the dead of night and flogged to some pikey for beer tokens.:eek:

I think he is talking about the Product qualification we all now must carry to erect system.

They shld not be touchin scaffold weather it be yer **** kwik stage or wotever the **** scaffold it is. Brickies lab or not they aint. COMPATENT. Don't care wot anyvbody says. Scaffolding is a game where aye u need to do wot every scaffolders needs to go thru. Experience or not u still need to do wot every scaff has to do and tht is part 1 and part 2. Anyboddy can do **** kwik stage. Lol" tubing n fitting is the daddy and all us scaff know this **** man.
