The Ministry of Labour is now investigating a fatal scaffolding accident in the city, the second in less than two months.
Just after noon on Thursday, Toronto police were called to a six-storey building on Parkwood Village Drive, in the Victoria Park Avenue and York Mills Road area.
A construction worker, 43, who is a father of two from Mississauga, fell some distance from a scaffold and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was wearing a safety harness but it is not clear if it was attached to anything.
On December 24, 2009, four migrant workers fell to their death from a scaffold at another building in Toronto. The Ministry of Labour continues to investigate that accidents and began a blitz of scaffold inspections last month.
