Get the yellow pages out mate and ring every firm in the area you're prepared to travel to.

Loads of scaffolding contractors around your manor in Essex, so if you stick at it you should get something soon enough.

Good luck.

Best go into the yard and ask, harder for the boss to say no ;)

Dont bother.

Theres not enough work for qualified Scaffolders to go around in this climate, let alone someone with no experience in the game...

My advice? - Get another job doing something else.

Welcome Seday there is always work for good grafters , i aint never been out of work in 32 years, Get your CSCS test done with working at heights and go round the yards , phone companys and leave your number you WILL get a start in time , then you gotta work hard and be keen to learn , good bosses will notice it. Try the smaller firms first because you will no just be an employee but part of a gang , best of luck with it and let us know how you get on mate .

I feel you would be given a very paltry wage anyways Seday as there is fuc.k all on at the moment workwise.

Yea, willing to have beans in a tin for a few months.. in terms of work is it generally like this at this time of year or due to the recession?

Bit of both.

But Scaffolding, like all the Construction Industry is getting hit hard atm.
I think its going to get worse, before it gets better... hopefully not too much worse.
