looking for work aboard

yes HSWT , they must still be using them , they mentioned them in the email , i thought maybe they have moved away from using them buy now , sgb were also using that wrap around fitting with the bit you hammer into place , the left handed double , you have to have 1 leger on the outside , because the pins of the doubles get in the way of each other

your talking about the van theil wedge double, there was a lot of them used when i was in Holland back end of last yr , they also do a swivel, and the tube is no bigger than a 14 with a screw type thread so there's no weak point in a standard.

Not bad to use once you got used to it , but laughable when you first lay eyes on it.

yes , laughable , i was told some old dutch scaff designed them , when they got the first load , it was only then they realised theyd need a leger on the outside , lol

personally i never saw the ledger on the outside, if you have all the kit inc the trannys its a quick system, as the transom has half a wedge welded on to it, 4 bds , and 5 bds , so get the base in and away we go, easy p easy japeneezy.;-)

SGB used them offshore on the Shell/NAM fields. Always make sure the standard wedge is on the outside then it will not foul transoms/aberdeens etc.

They are actually like a Mills but with a wedge or spear.

I've done a lot of work with Tubelock (Van Theil) and you are bang on the mark Mick. Very quick and sound system. I converted mountains of stock at Bow into the Tube lock system although I never liked the wedge coupler much I loved the tube element with the built in male, female connections. The sliding transom nice bit of kit.
There should still be a bit of kit in the UK as Swift and Trad took most of it when Bow went pop.
