Is it me or building firms like persimmons, storeys, barrets etc going abit over the top on the spec of loading bays. 18 transoms, 5 standards.rakers to every standerd, aberdeens top and bottem of every standered/punction on every lift. 4 plan braces on every lift. 4 sway braces every lift. Bearing in mind the loading bays on my sight or only 11ft wide. They narf eat your gear up and i couldnt bloody move hoying the second lift in haha.

Gone well beyond a joke mate ,
I don't see how you can price them and win the work to make money mate

Seemed abit over the top bud. Ide hate to do them on price. You can base most of your lift out by the time you do a loading bay to there spec.

Ive held some generic drwgs for loading bays prior to the introduction of TG20:13 & its update & theyve allways done me proud but we've just priced a taylor wimpey job & ffs who supplied their own drwg with doulbe yhe amount of gear in it for only a small rise in the SWL but youre not gonna get more than a muck bin & pack of bricks on it due to the size anyway - well over engineered

Will any of these sites take a seperate system loading bay? They fly up and the loadings are normally good too.

I don't mind when they supply the design because at least everybody is pricing the same thing. I know it can be a pain to build but there is nothing worse loosing a job to someone who priced a cheaper design to what your working to and gets away with it

Aye its beyond a joke theres a miller site a stone throw away and theres no way as much gear in there loading bays and there The same swl as ours. But hey ho im on day rate so why am i complaining.

Is the taylor wimpey loading bay. 5 standards with aberdeens. 13 trannys, 2 sway braces. Plan braces and 2 more braces.

Ridiculous! As soon as you mentioned Persimmon I knew exactly where this topic was heading. Anyone would think they were landing a Chieftain Tank on top of it.
Doing a similar one on a Redrow site and not half the tube involved in the lift.
