Digs money without hotel receipt

I'm going to be working in MK week and getting digs money but I'd rather drive, do I need a hotel receipt or can I just get an auntie who lives near by to write one out?

If digs moneys been agreed,I wouldnt see who yur staying with as a problem. Just provide receipt.

I didn't think it would be a problem but some people think different, if they don't give it ill just quit cause the money wouldn't be worth it.

Cant you just ask them to give you petrol money , it wont be that much difference

It's for an agency bromac on behalf of harsco, I'm not sure what the deal is with the stuff like this so was just wondering if anyone else had had this problem and what their experiences are with it and if there were any loopholes as such.

Doesn't all income have to be declared? I was assuming she had some other form of income and wasn't just waiting for Harsco to decide to pay lodge.

It's weird cause I get paid the lodge money into my bank with the wages so don't know why they want a receipt.

They want them so they can claim if back from the company

Cos thats not wages sugaray, tax would have to be deducted. If thats the case, get auntie to wite a receipt,, Digs, like tools is 100% tax free

The first 4,250 per annum is tax free if you rent out a furnished room which equates to a rent of just under 12 quid a day.

Ok nice one chaps, the contract is only for 10 weeks so should be well under 4,250
