Its a fact that scaffolding is not considered a trade. Its simply putting components together rather like people do with something they have bought from IKEA or MFI.

Last I understood scaffolding is seen as semi skilled trade, but as I understand the word trade, it has to be classified as such. A fruit seller is a trader, quid pro quo, any person providing service or product for financial or material benefit is therefore a trader.
Linked within a trades body such as CISRS et al surely shores the case.

Yes the money back then was great. Thankfully still is.
I do feel that after all these years scaffolding is still largely purely labouring work. It only gets technical once you get into the design and calculation part.It is fixing pipes together with clamps, cups, wedges etc.
