calling all small firms nationwide

There is alot of houses to do for the solar industry but these companies are wanting as many as possible to drive down the prices..
A company which I wont name here, the lads are driving around in pick ups having to do 6-8 jobs a day to make £120 on price , some of the jobs are miles apart.
tell em £35 per a metre and £85 a metre for beam work over conservatories.
but theres always sum **** who'll go in at £8 a metre, my advice is av it.. its not worth the headache.

Must be able to get a lot og gear on a pick up to do all these jobs in a day

sounds like a british gas job i had 10 years ago.
it will just be towers. the lads did 3 or 4 a day. easy to price as it was by rising mt.then a certain price for a chimney.
after a while the lads got to know the fitters and worked it between them everyone did well from it.
ended up with about 18 lads just doing british gas work.
 
These P.V. installation companys are being awarded huge numbers of properties and they wont be winning these contracts by allowing a fair costing for scaffolding(essential).So we can all expect to be screwed to the floor on prices,and some idiot will always oblige,so what should be a much needed boost to our industry with everyone making what the jobs are actually worth,we'll end up running around being busy fools if we dont stick to our guns on prices,I really dont want the headache to make feck all.:huh:
