anyone had any problems with asp xtenda transoms and
the pins falling out?

we have about 1000 mate and we have had no problems as of yet

we now have about 4000 ASP/Combisafe xtenda's and recently the pins that hold the wedges in have started to fall out, resulting in a near miss in town, HSE and all sorts.

Globescaff i've known that problem with the xtenda's but the newer ones seem to be a lot better. What sort of age are yours? Not good a near miss in the town.

Hi Globescaff

I would get in touch with ASP, sure they would be interested to know about any defects in their kit so they can sort out.

Chris Eng:)

ours are about 3 years old had no problems , asp are now combisafe

xtenda

mine are about 3-4 years old and when we contacted ASP/Combisafe
they said they'd never had a problem and so would do nothing about it
which is very dissapointing considering we'd spent 300k with in the last four years. I also know they changed the design in the months after i brought
mine and the holding pin was changed for a rivet, but they say they didn't
do it because the pins were falling out.

Hi Globescaff

Seems strange that ASP/ Combisafe were not interested in the fault.

Unfortunately like car manufacturers they try to ignore it unless they have lots of complaints or accidents.

If you spend 300k with them sure you could speak to MD to complain and get some response.:)

Take care

it was the MD who told me they would do nothing, if i can find others who have had problems he may take more notice

if they are defective make an issue out of it mate , contact HSE ect , or a formal letter from you requesting what are they going to do about it , did you buy direct or through generation ect
