Hash this Alan666 I'd do power stations most of the time fair play some powerstations can take the piss on.I do street,petro chemical, powerstation and there are some cracking scaffs also lazy ones. No need to just pin point at certain place of work.
 
see your point podger and as usual elegantly put, but i think that you'd then have to make that statement for all works then-as money in the sector is not anywhere anymore.
although i agree that some streetjobs as u put it may not meet the standard,it again depends on what type of streetjobs your talking about, i can assure you when we're doin a job up town off gantrys etc or shop fronts then they couldn't and shouldn't be put in the same league as a 1 manband banging up a two day up & down access outside a newsagents, i just found essex comments rather derogatory and outspoken for a forum moderator
 
i aint been on here long and am still trying to find my feet , but i have gone back over a few older threads and i got to say essex you av got one hell of a chip on your shoulder attitude geezer, didn't your mummy every teach you if u aint got nuffin good to say then say nuffin
 
Well I've work with Essex lets say we didn't get on...
But truth of it he's not to bad. Just very opinionated....

There are still some decent scaffs knocking out good quality work in our towns and city's but Ive also seen some really shoddy work recently in prime locations both north and south , real basic stuff, saggy bridge beams slung across single standards etc .Most of the decent hands I know now prefer the Industrial sites as the days of job and knock and a shift for a half day Saturday and midday finish on a Sunday seem to be a thing of the past . Price gangs struggle to make decent money with all the extra work involved with all latest SG codes and no extra money factored in to the price . more companies using agency lads who don't give a toss because they know they are only there to be used and abused . The standard in general is not what it used to be in my opinion, On industrial sites jobs have reach a certain standard or the don't get tagged .

If you have issues with Essex pm admin but remember a lot of comments are often posted to get a reaction and keep the threads flowing, its the nature of the beast :blink1:

We can all whip up independents lol
Try it when every thing is in your way and work to SG practices....
Not as easy as you may think and still make price ? Not trying to knock the street lads but it's a different ball game all together.
 
With regards to my comments, the K&K scaffolding being advertised for scaffolders are from Southend in Essex, and I no of people who have gone on there and see there jobs up, all the do is houses and some towers on flats, and it's all shabby work, scaffolders on there have no tickets and a few I won't mention are pissheads, drinking and doing gear at work, this firm is like boss scaffolding was in the 80's which unfortunately of today 2012 only chancers would go on there, no 1 in there right mind who has a part 2 and done powerstation/track work/site work would go on here apart from a step gap if they really had 2, when I was younger 18-19 I loved working for these shabby firms, working 7-3, in the pub at lunch, but you won't ever better yourself on here, £100 a day whoever can crack on, but for me, I got other various tickets through choice to better myself and have more options to earn money, midge is very much like me, he has tickets so he can choose where he goes and not just rot on a 2 bob firm,

Southern - I think there is a problem between you and me, touch a nerve when I say street firms are shiit (most of them are now days) you need to get a life, there are things on here I read a dont agree with, I don't then reply making stupid comments everytime I do.

Unfortunately most street scaffolders now days and have been last 3-4 years are exactly what I said in my original post.
 
good info essex,as for you allen666 offshore ok ****,you must be one aswell slagging your own kind of,if you"ve been out there aswell,i dont normally say anything about other scafs,but you,well your something else

i dont think i have a problem with you personally essex, just the stupid, over-opinionated things you put on here to try and wind people up ;) & certainly doest touch a nerve with me just always surprised by the arrogance by your replys.
i also dont agree with many comments & always smile @ the tongue in cheek ones, not sure if i make stupid comments, but like you try help out with advise etc.
the only thing that i have tried to say to you and you can either take it or leave it , is we all on here are entitled to our own opinions, but as a forum moderator i would have expected a little less arrogance,snide comments and being downright rude to other forum members, surely with your position comes at least that amount of responsibilty.

opinions are like arse holes, everyone has one. Just because Essex moderates the forum doesn't mean he isn't entitled to voice his. The good thing on here is the site isn't over-moderated.
 
fair enough X , and your dead right he is entitled & should be allowed to voice his own opinion, but in my book with a position comes responsibility, i wouldn't dream of stopping free speech, but i also wouldn't dream of being so rude,
 
Thats half the reason I stopped moderating on here, I couldn't keep my opinions to myself :D
