Scaffolders required for on going long term project in milton keynes.
Advanced scaffolders and part 2 scaffolders wanted for immediate start
hours are 07.00-17.00(9 hours paid)mon-fri
advanced scaffolders £17.50
part 2 scaffolders £16.00

Hi is there any digs with this one ?

Also are you sure only 9 hours paid that means there docking you an hour for dinner i thought 30 mins was the norm?
 
Alright No digs and yes the client is paying 9 hours so there is a hour for breaks deducted
 
Thanks for swift reply any travel money?

Hope the client is allowing decent break times then and not just 2x 30 mins

If they are docking an hour iam sure they can give a bit aswell ive never heard of a company docking an hour for breaks 30 mins yes.
 
I can only comment on what the client has stated if it was down to me id pay you 10s but it isnt the company have stated that they are paying 9 hours so will only be able to get 9s signed for.
You know the crack anyway you make it back in other ways no one grafts for 9 hours a day that hour soon becomes 1 and half hours by the time youve walked from your job to the canteen had your snap smoko had a chat and walked back to the job put your gear back on then had a look at the job
 
Worked for a guy not so long ago,creative accounting I think its called.
Was paid X per day.usual 9hrs.
Then X was divided in to 9hrs,
then was paid for 8 hrs on rate that was calculated on a 9 hr day.
Think about it??:huh:

Maybe you would like everyone to bring sandwiches and a flask and eat and drink sitting on the lift?
Your break should start at the canteen, walking to and from it is not resting. We are supposed to be going forward here not back to the bad old days.

Is it the norm to go in for an extra hour to cover your breaks on big jobs?

If so ive never been on a big job

seriouslly your right in what your saying and i rang my client and pointed this out to them and they replyed that it is there company precedure you have a hour dinner unpaid.ive filled this job anyway where are you working money_hungry?

Well from that you sound like you are actually responsible for your clients P&L.
You remind me of a gaffer who docked guys for having a rest on the way up to do hangers from a 300m high chimney and another who wouldn't employ men if they smoked roll ups!!;)
