My name is Micky and im initiating an apprenticeship with CITB construction skills (bconstructive | construction apprenticeships, careers and jobs )
Having successfully passed the assessment I have started applying for vacancies with scaffolding construction companies.
I am contacting you hoping to provoke interest. I am searching for a company willing to create an opportunity & position that will provide security, prospects and involve personal development & support during training, all through the apprenticeship.

I have well over 10 years experience and can provide many references. I hold a clean driving license with C1+E. I am 35, fit, strong, hard working & loyal. I believe I am an asset to any firm. I have held various positions including chargehand within several firms.
I dont have any tickets, hence why I am but I am taking this step forward, with a view to gaining recognised qualifications and progressing

Just a thought.
If you have over 10 years experience why have you not already been trained??
Why have you had no stability in jobs and stuck to one employer??
as a potential employer would be baffled as to why someone claiming to be such an asset to a firm would have had so many in such a short time??
Did not mean to offend if I did

its pretty obvious , like many people the guy's been working without a card A&A.
Is 10 years a short time?
You dont know how many jobs this guy has had , so why do you say so many..
You dont know he has not had stability

your first post AA re-activating a thread over a month old , NICE ONE ,what is the A&A , is it Absolute ******** or maybe Anus.. im sure the piranha farmer will rush back to answer you..

Your post doesn't make any sense, you say you have over 10 years experience yet are asking for training,I would suggest you just go do your part 1 and advertise yourself as an experienced scaffolder looking for long term work.

35 year old apprentice? Milk n two sugars mate. Seriously, get your part one and if your an experienced guy you'll get a start somewhere no problem. I wouldn't go down the route you're talking about as you'll probably get shafted. Used as cheap labour. Leaving yourself wide open for it if you ask me.

cheerz gents for the thoughts, & I'm going to address some of the issues raised.
First in hindsight youre right, that would be asking to be mugged off.. I am going to spend the old tax rebate on the part 1. cscs working at heights gained and cisrs trainnee card got, am working again after a couple of weeks off, back with one of the "several" firms I have previously EXCELLED for.

Now, A&A.. not sure what planet you are visiting from but here on the third rock from the sun, in the good old uk, everything aint always strawberries and cream. personal circumstances change and Firms have highs and lows, life happens pal. On meeting a scaff I aint had the fortune or misfortune to have worked with before; I can guarantee one of the first questions they will ask, will be the inevitable; "so what firms you worked for mate?"
and each one of them will have a collection of hoodies and teeshirts sportin ""several"" different firms. (for future reference buddy; several being more than two but fewer than many in number or kind)
I have found it easy to coast by on my experience and peak physical fitness. but now with the changing face of the industry and the desire to be paid my worth and expand my knowledge & experiences. I now realise I need accreditation.
and ok Lee, - I acknowledge youre right: I dont need training, merely an industry accepted qualification.

Fair play to u m8...time to leave the dinosaurs behind & start to play in the big wide world with a ticket lolo- u'd be surprised how many guys are in your shoes but dont want to proress...in another few years without the ticket you'll not get employment full stop

There are plenty of very good more then capable lads with part 1 tickets ,
I worked for nearly 25 years without any kind of ticket and in the end up had to pay for my own .
It aint bout the ticket its about what a man knows and can do that counts in my book.
Good luck to you mate iam sure you will get just as much work with part 1.

London of course , where all the real scaffolders come from ;)

In your dreams,us Yorkshire folk would love to take you on the cooling towers, you would **** your pants.
