Scaffolders - Offshore Italy (3 Viewers)

solidarity will never happen with scaffs, some are to daft with no balls and petrified for their jobs, if the lads stuck together every one could be earning good money across the board. Ive been out the UK for the last 5yrs and spoke to a mate of mine about the rates offshore and says they havent changed since the day i left. sums it up really. Does anyone know if a meeting has ever been held with scaffs from across the country similar to GMB/TUC etc? thats what is needed.

Exactly qatarscaff. Start with offshore as easy to control then move onshore setting rates acceptable to everyone. Maybe this SCCR could organise it? If the UK guys really do stick together then anything is possible.
 
its a difficult problem HSWT , anyone tryin to do anything could find themselves on one of these blacklists that ucatt exposed

there are too many cants wont pay to join a union thats why the games fecked and the big employers can run rough shod over the guys who arent on union agreed sites.we have been down this road so many times and i cant see it changing,feck me when you are on a good site and rained off because method staements and risk assesments implemented by the oil company etc,THE MINUTE THE GAFFER SAYS THERES A JOB AND KNOCK ON THE KNIVES ARE OUT AND THE RISK ASSESMENT ETC GETS RIPPED UP---SOON TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY.:mad::mad::mad:
 
When you consider that a teachers union can go to a confrence with 5/6000 members and all the tough as nails scaffs in great britain cant organise something similar it beggers belief, the SCCR as HSWT rightly pointed out should be calling on the lads to do this and become organised, how the feck can the TUC do it and not us? Is ever one really that scared. The amount of guys that come on here could easily mange this if the orginisation was in place. The back stabbers can stay behind.
 
The SCCR have made no comment so far... Why?. Is it just another QANGO set up to line their own pockets? I look forward to a response
 
when its all temporary contracts and agencies hiring the scaffolders frank111, I dont think it matters which union your in... youll still end up like a 1 legged man in an arse kicking contest!!:mad:
 
Its an old story u will still be floggin the same horse when u draw your pension it aint happenin i wish it would but it wont

Absolutely,i've been saying the same for years.I know things are bad with the work available at the moment but there are lads willing to work for 10 quid an hour on some onshore jobs,its shocking.I was earning that 14-15 years ago.The thing is if people are accepting it then companies will take advantage of that fact.If everyone took a stand and refused to be ripped off then it would'nt take long for them to up the rate.
Come on boys grow a pair.

Its easy enough for europeans to come and work in britain, and they all have mates, I think you can maybe see where im going with this..

Think I might put this to the vote on the forum.... Unless its already been done.

What percentage of the Scaffolders forum would go on strike ( all sectors ) for better pay and conditions??

Hi i have just done my BOSIET and looking for work offshore, need to do my MIST what is booked for 14/02/13 and medical, could you tell me if i require any more qualifications? ypur help would be verry much appriciated
 
lip balm may come in handy as there are a right few cokksuckers who dont give a flying feck for the conditions that men fought for,

Fair comment , there are to many greedy buggers doing three weekers . Could probably have another 50 or 60 guys offshore but for these people .
Anyway John you have all you need so just keep badgering the main players . There is a lot of work in the North Sea this year so you should get in.
