Job Description:SCAFFOLDER - LEICESTER (with UK wide travel responsibilities)

We began insulating homes in 1974, as the first step in helping save energy, money and carbon emissions and we are dedicated to providing a 'whole house' solution to energy-efficiency. Today we help over 6,000 UK homes become more energy efficient every week.

We are continuing to expand and looking to recruit Scaffolders. The purpose of the role will be to erect and dismantle scaffold structures, guard rails and boards securely reporting to the Scaffolding Manager
Main Duties / Responsibilities:

•Make adequate provision for the safety of themselves, the work force, the public affected by scaffolding work and any future users of the scaffold structure by working to the relevant British and European standards, NASC guidelines and Statutory Regulations.
•Select serviceable scaffold tubes, boards and fittings. Use correctly and safely.
•Select, inspect, assemble and install prefabricated beams into and onto scaffold structures.
•Position hoists and erect hoist tower correctly.
•Support scaffold protection fans by tubes and wires according to requirements of TG 20.
•Erect scaffolds on pavements and public places safely and correctly with regard to Local Authority regulations.
•Install spurs and rakers within the correct operating angles. Attach check fittings, droppers and puncheons in the correct positions to scaffolds.
•Erect cantilever scaffolds applying appropriate weights with due regard to the safety measures required to prevent overturning.
•Install anchor ties and other specialist fixings to manufacturer’s recommendations.Testing and reporting in accordance with current SG4 procedures.
•Select, space and install the correct amount of ties to restrain sheeted and unsheeted scaffolds in unexposed areas to current TG 20 requirements.
•Determine the materials required to set out, erect and dismantle in a safe sequence the scaffolds listed below;
•Scaffolds with prefabricated beams
Hoist tower•Cantilever scaffold
•Truss-out scaffold
•Protective fans
•Pavement gantry
•Roof stack scaffold
•Roof saddle scaffold
Interpret scaffold drawings.
•Interpret and work to risk assessments and method statements.
•As a member of a team, dismantle the scaffolds safely and in their correct sequence
•Organise men and materials to lead a gang carrying out scaffold operations where required.
•Flexible approach to working hours
•Ensure all associated administration duties are carried out in line with company procedures
•Ensure that a professional and courteous approach is adopted at all times
•Strictly adhere to all Health and Safety procedures and ensure that the working environment is practical for both yourself and others
•And any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post, which may be allocated from time to time, such as overtime
The successful candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

•1+ year post scaffolder cardexperience preferred in the relevant construction/building environment
•CISRS Scaffolder Card
•Other certificates of competence
•Analytical thinking
•Organisational skills
•Customer focus
•Team player
•Extensive UK travel
•Ability to work away from home
