SCAFFOLDER Wage£9.45 PER HOUR Harsco

thats more than pyeroys hourly wage for a scaffolder, and most the other firms, ship yards in the north east

If you wanna work for them then go ahead and be a mug then.
You'll earn more then that in McDonalds after a year...

Break my back for less then £10 an hour?
F.uck you... i aint no c.unt mate.

Mark isnt being a mug he is just stating a fact, £10 to £12 is average up here from the biggest to the smallest firms, from street to yards.
even at £10 per hour you will earn £20k not great i know, but better than 7k at mcdonalds,
up here even on the sreets when lads get the OT and bonus etc they are probably making 30k most i know make 40k to 50k even though the basic is £10.56 or such, it all depends.
Unlike the smoke we are not fortunate enough to be inundated with olympic stadiums and sky scrapers, thats why we mostly work away to pull you soft southern shandy drinking puffs out of the sh1te:laugh:
anmyway fukc off cos this time next year i'll be a millionaire:eek:

jason im not a mug im just telling it how it is. you might get £15 an hour down london but youve gotta take into account living costs, youd pay 150k for a 1 bedroom flat down there, where as youd get a beautiful 3 bedroom semi detached house up here for a 130k. Even city centre parking council tax etc,etc is way cheaper. As Jak saids you might start a job with £10 odd an hour but you end up on price work, get bonuses etc. Ad imagine most of my mates are averaging between 45-60k a year

Fine.

I won't kill myself for £10 an hour.
No way.

Others wanna do it, its down to them.

Would Hardcore do £1,000,000'a worth of work for £250,000?
Do I even need to answer that?? - But they expect to work for f.uck all... Its a Piss take.

Whichever way you look at it you have to do whatever it takes to feed your family if you want to earn £368.55 per week with Arsco or stay on the dole it is entirely up to the individual concerned

Saying all that, I looked in the job centre today out of curiousity and looked up what the wage was being offered to other trades, such as brickies, joiners ect and I was quite shocked myself I must admit.
Scaffolders are at least on par with these other trades as far as the jobs wage was advertised , in most cases even more.

See for yourselves if you dont believe me lads, but if this is the way the building trade is going, then the sooner I leave it the better.:(

I have heard that the ones that are 'in the money' at the moment are the solar panel installater's, considering the speed they do the jobs on the roofs.
Does anyone know if its true or not?

Harsco is it down south ie Newcastle manchester places like that????? Not for long is ur answer

beats a dole payment as anything does is it not true that its easier to find work when working than when idle? i have found it to be true

At the end of the day, we all do the same job, work just as hard up north as we work down south. Everyone should be on the same wage no matter where you live. Its only down to firms trying to undercut eachother to get the work, which means less money for us.

I know people need to feed their families but if scaffs were willing to make money by other means then the rates would have to go up. I know it would never happen though which is abit **** really. Im a northener and I'd love to be near most of my family but the rates up north are just depressing. I live in Sussex now and apart from house prices being higher there isn't that much difference in the cost of living to be honest.

I do believe that people working for **** rates fook it up for everyone else.

People say it beats the dole but in my eyes thats the wrong attitude to take towards the matter. Id rather be on the dole than have the piss taken out of me!
