I always thought birdcage meant you are building a square scaffold with a single upright taking all weight in the middle ie the middle upright the bird with uprights round probably wrong!!:embarrest:NASC have told me that the term "birdcage" originates from the far east from before the 1st world war.
they actually use bamboo in china not steel tubes
and when they erect what we know as a birdcage,
it really does look like a birdcage what your gran has in her from room with a budgie in.
and the chinese do actually make round birdcages
as the can bend the bamboo very easily.
Normally you work on top of the birdcage so why is it not called a bird table!!! :blink:
